Quickstart: build your first app
Latibe turns an idea into a real native app that runs on your phone. You don’t need to write code or have a finished plan. Every app goes through the same four-step loop:
-
Create a project
Open app.latibe.com and create a new project. Give it an App Name and write a short summary of your idea, a sentence or two is enough. You can refine everything later.
Example“PianoHero — a fun piano game that teaches songs with guided notes and a free-play mode.”
-
Shape your vibe
Tell Latibe what you want. There are three ways to do it, and you can mix them freely within the same project:
Voice Interview Mode
Powered by Gemini Live
Just talk about your idea. Latibe asks follow-up questions and guides you through screens, interactions and design choices, like a product partner thinking out loud with you.
Best for: early ideas and creators who think by talking.
Creator Chat / Spec
Write it out
Describe the features, screens or exact workflows you have in mind. Use this when you already know what you want and how it should behave.
Best for: detailed requirements and changes to an existing app.
One-Shot Prompts
One direct request
Describe the whole app in a single prompt and let Latibe take it from there.
Best for: quick prototypes and testing an idea fast.
One-shot prompt exampleBuild a calorie tracking app where users can snap photos of meals and get estimated macros with AI.
-
Build & generate
Latibe creates your native screens, navigation flows and backend logic. You can follow progress in the project chat and keep asking for changes, such as “make the buttons bigger” or “add a dark mode”.
Generation time depends on how deep your app is and how many features it has. A simple single-screen app is quick. Multi-screen apps with a database take a few minutes.
-
Test on your device
Open Test on Android and click Build APK. When the build is ready, scan the QR code on screen with your Android phone’s camera, download the file, and install it.
First time sideloading? Android may ask you to allow installs from your browser or file manager (“Install unknown apps”). This is normal for test builds that don’t come from the Play Store. You only need to allow it once.
Native capabilities, out of the box
Every Latibe app is a real native app, not a website inside an app shell. These capabilities are available from day one, and you just ask for them in plain language.
True native performance
Smooth 60–120 FPS animations and scrolling. Your app is compiled directly for the device, with no slow web views or wrappers.
Hardware & device features
Camera capture and photo processing, GPS and location services, and secure local storage on the device.
Authentication
Built-in phone or email login with one-time passcodes (OTP), powered by Supabase. Your users don’t need to remember a password.
Visuals & branding
Generate an app icon with the built-in AI icon generator, or upload your own icons and graphics under Resources.
In-app AI & the AI Coins system
Your apps can include AI features of their own. Latibe handles the AI connection, so you don’t need an API account or an AI provider’s key.
What your app’s AI can do
| Capability | What it does | Example ideas |
|---|---|---|
| Text-to-text | Answers, summaries, suggestions and chat | Habit coach, study helper, recipe suggestions |
| Image-to-text | Understands photos and turns them into data | Food logging, receipt scanning, plant identification |
| Text-to-image | Creates images from a description | Avatars, story illustrations, custom stickers |
How AI Coins work
AI usage is measured in AI Coins. There are three separate balances, so you always know who pays for what:
Generate App Coins
You spend these inside Latibe to build, refine and generate your app’s code and icons.
In-App Dev AI Coins
Your Creator Pool. One shared safety cap across all your apps, covering free-trial AI features and your own dev testing.
In-App User AI Coins
Latibe manages these automatically. Your app’s users spend AI Coins through their own in-app subscriptions, so you never get a surprise API bill.
Setting up your backend (Supabase)
Supabase stores your app’s data and handles user login. There are two ways to set it up:
Zero config
Let Latibe provision and configure a Supabase backend for you automatically. There are no accounts to create and no keys to copy.
Best for: most creators, and anyone building their first app.
Bring your own project
Connect a Supabase project you own, if you want direct access to the database dashboard or already have data there.
Best for: creators who already use Supabase.
Connecting your own Supabase project
- Go to supabase.com and create a free project.
- In your Supabase project, open Project Settings and go to the API keys section to find your Project URL and your anon (public) key.
- In Latibe, open your project and click Modules & Keys.
- Paste the Project URL and the anon (public) key into the Supabase fields and save.
service_role key. The service_role key is a secret that bypasses all of your database’s security rules. Latibe only ever needs the public anon key, which is designed to ship safely inside client apps. If you think you’ve shared the service_role key anywhere, rotate it in Supabase straight away.
Paywalls & subscriptions (RevenueCat)
RevenueCat handles in-app purchases and subscriptions, so you can earn from your app. Latibe connects your app to it for you.
- Design your paywall visually in the RevenueCat dashboard, including products, prices and offerings.
- Copy your public API key: in RevenueCat, go to API Keys and copy the Public app-specific key for your app.
- Paste it into Latibe: open Modules & Keys in your project and add the key in the RevenueCat field.
- Done. Latibe automatically connects your app’s native screens to your RevenueCat paywall offerings. When you change prices or offerings in RevenueCat, your app picks them up.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need coding experience?
No. Latibe is built for vibe coders and non-technical creators who want to go from idea to native app. You describe what you want in plain language, by talking or typing, and Latibe builds it.
How long does generation take?
There’s no fixed time limit. Simple apps are quick. Complex multi-screen apps that also need a database schema can take a few minutes, because Latibe makes sure everything fits together and runs reliably.
Which platforms can I run my app on?
During the private beta, you can install native Android builds right away by sideloading the APK. iOS builds and direct publishing to the app stores are coming soon.
Can I export my project assets?
Yes. You can export or manage icons and project assets from your dashboard.
Which keys are safe to paste into Latibe?
Only public keys: the Supabase anon (public) key and the RevenueCat Public app-specific key. Never paste secret keys such as Supabase’s service_role key.
Will my app’s users cost me money when they use AI?
No surprise bills. Your end users spend AI Coins through their own in-app subscriptions. Your own testing and free-trial usage come from your Creator Pool, which has a safety cap. See In-app AI & the AI Coins system.
